Learn from experience

Founder and Principal, Boyd has spent years living aboard sailing boats in his home state of Queensland, Australia and has also sailed Tahiti; Croatia; Thailand and Greece.

He holds a number of commercial and non-commercial marine tickets and has spent decades around, and on, boats of various sizes. His first stint on boats was scooting to school in a ‘tinny’ and then he left school to work on a prawn boat at the age of 15. Boyd has also worked in marinas and as a charter boat briefer.

After a successful corporate career in advertising, marketing and corporate strategy, in 2015, he was diagnosed with melanoma cancer and shortly after successful treatment, elected to take his life on a new and rewarding path – back to living aboard his 50’, steel, sailing ketch, “Morningside.”

Boyd currently spends his time between his hometown of The Whitsundays, in Queensland, Australia and Phuket, Thailand.
